Summer Hires Are On The Increase

As the summer season approaches, the demand for seasonal and temporary hires is on the rise.

The reasons are a-plenty, but much of it feeds back to how our economy leverages off the sunnier weather and the increase in consumption over the summer period (goods, services, food, beverages – the list continues).

You might be asking yourself if your business could benefit from some temporary assistance, here are some reasons we think you could consider before making that decision:

Eliminate the hassle – A lot of time and effort goes into recruiting even a single employee (not to mention the frustration, for those that don’t know where to start!). When you decide to hire multiple temp workers, you essentially engage with a team of recruiters who are specialists in their field. They know the questions to ask in interview to uncover the truth, they know what pauses or hesitation means during those all-important reference checks! By outsourcing this to an agency, you are choosing to focus on your core objectives.

Flexibility –Engaging a temporary workforce offers business owners’ flexibility and the ability to hire rapidly, whilst often appealing to workers too. Just as it fulfils a staffing need for you, it fulfils a job need for the employee who may be available for a fixed period of time or be looking for more exposure within an industry.  As quickly as you can ramp up for an anticipated busy season you can just as quickly ramp down and we can re-deploy our experienced associates elsewhere.

Reduce labour costs – One of the best reasons to use temp employees is to cut labour costs. These can range from placing advertisements or initiating other sourcing options to background checks, training and overtime costs. You don’t pay for someone, when you don’t need them and you also don’t have any additional permanent FTE’s sitting on your P&L messing with your “return on sales” figure.

Expert assistance straight away - Hiring an expert or a manager for a specific project with a clearly defined timeline, will allow you to complete your project on time. Chances are, we have run similar projects in the past and will be able to consult with you around the best way forward and help you mitigate hurdles along the way.

In a hurry - Ensure that all of your urgent work is completed right on time. When you have a sudden flux in work- don’t depend on the permanent employees only; when you have temporary workers, you know that you have support to finish the tasks in time.

Gets you to the good people -  There are times when you are unable to get good people to work for you; the good news is that staffing agencies send the best and the most talented workers to your organisation. We have various networks and sourcing strategies, as we are always recruiting and finding ways of accessing the best talent. We become your brand ambassadors – we learn about you and your business, and pass this on in the marketplace meaning you are best positioned to grab the attention of the good ones!

Hiring temporary workers can benefit your business. Sometimes hiring employees that are the right fit for your workplace is can be a challenge, and a costly one at that.   Temporary employees, on the other hand, can provide employers with the chance to evaluate workers over a longer period of time without committing immediately to a permanent offer. Often they add vigour to the workplace and we often see an increase in overall productivity with our clients as a reflection.
