Adecco Sponsored Kim Clijsters wins 3rd US Open


Kim Clijsters has won her third title at the US Open. In the final there was no holding the Belgian, clearly an unrivalled match for Vera Zvonareva. Kim allowed the Russian only three games.
 
After the match a visibly moved Kim took her time to address the audience. She thanked the spectators, her team and her family for all the support. She also mentioned the events of 9/11, nine years ago to the day. "Nine years ago the world changed. I'm honoured to have been playing here before you and try and offer you some distraction," she said.

The 26-year-old Belgian left professional tennis in 2007 to start a family and in February 2008 she gave birth to daughter Jada. During her first career, Clijsters ranked for a total of 16 weeks as the No. 1 tennis player in the world, won 34 WTA singles titles and 11 WTA doubles titles. Upon her retun to tennis, Cljisters signed a partnerhsip with Adecco.
