The Census is the official count of how many people and dwellings we have in New Zealand. It takes a snapshot of the people in New Zealand and the places where we live.

Legally, Statistics New Zealand must conduct a Census every 5 years.

To run the 2011 Census, Statistics NZ recruits one of the largest temporary workforces in New Zealand.

Adecco is proud to be associated with Statistics New Zealand, providing Warehousing and Processing Staff for Census 2001 and 2006 and selected again, in 2011.

Roles that we have available are as follows:-

  • Team Leader - Processing
  • Data Processing Operator
  • Data Processing Operator - Maori Language competency
  • Team leader - Warehouse
  • Warehouse Staff

NB Applications for these roles will be accepted from 20th January 2011.

More than 7,500 field staff are required to conduct Census, from Cape Reinga to Stewart Island, and everywhere in between.

Field roles are employed directly by Statistics New Zealand and include:

  • Collectors
  • District supervisors
  • Regional trainers
  • Office support staff
  • Area managers
