Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori has a strong and supportive team of committed advocates for the revitalisation of te reo Māori. We support each other in our work and in improving our own use of te reo Māori. It is a small workplace with a family-friendly whānau culture. Our work will support the Government's Māori language strategy, Maihi Karauna, to be issued under the new Māori Language Act 2016.
As someone experienced with careful planning and building strong business relationships the Senior Language Planning Advisor will identify opportunities for the introduction or revitalisation of te reo Māori within government agencies and the private sector through the development of a language plan reflecting the organisation's goals and its ability and readiness.
In this role you will develop and maintain a register of potential clients for the purpose of establishing a work programme and ensure the language plan design takes into account the client agency's culture, values, and operating model. You will lead the development of language planning approaches, templates, and how-to guides to make language planning easy for partnering agencies, groups, and businesses. Additionally you will develop working relationships with potential clients and work with the clients in the development and implementation of the language plan.
The successful applicant will be working closely with a collaborative team as well as working closely with the Principal Communications Advisor and the Director Partnerships and Promotions.
